I had a dream that one of my clients who is a child with autism. I am a therapist for all people, but I specialize in working with children with autism in the dream I went over to his house. It was a different house than the one he lives in and waking life. They were trying to find a new school, which is consistent with waking life, and I happen to stumble across a Montessori school two doors down from his house so we decided to just start taking him. We didn’t actually go through the enrollment process actually before I started taking him to the school. I saw a post on Facebook that this Montessori school was giving away three of these plastic water tables that I really really like and instead instead of messaging them and coordinating a time to pick them up I just went in there at night and took them and then when we were deciding, we were gonna try to take him to the school and work with him there so we would go as like instructional aids And facilitate his participation in the program. I decided to take the water tables back, but this time I just did it in the middle of the day so we just started showing up with him one day and it was really like my personal dream program. I it was child lead and play based and they had different rooms in this beautiful outdoor play area With lots of free choice activities. The language they were using was very affirming and supportive and informed by mental health research, they had a lot of visual support system kids who were may neurodivergent and he was really thriving in this program, and the teachers just started kind of talking to us and including us in things like That we were just showing up even though it was a little bit awkward, and I was feeling really happy that a program like this existed and envious because in lighting life, my therapy company really wants to have our own school in our own place, and they were really offering to Neurotypical kids what we were hoping to do For neurodivergent kids so I was feeling a little bit envious but also just frustrated that we can’t find a space is awesome as this. It was basically a whole house that had this beautiful backyard that they had turned into this forest like play area for the kids and that is my dream so I was feeling that way, and then they were having the teachers invited me and my staff to go to this party that one of the teachers was throwing and the teachers were younger like 20 something 30 something like our team to this party in this lake all way like this open brick courtyard in the city and so I was trying to drive there and my dad had bought donuts so I was trying to find like the specific kind of donut that I liked, which is chocolate covered cream filled, but he didn’t get those. He just got like varieties that were close to those, and so I was disappointed in like moving those around the box And I asked him to get out cause I wanted to go to this party so he got out of the driver seat and at the time I was in the backseat and then I tried to go up to the driver seat, but it looked like I was still in like the middle seat And I just couldn’t reach the steering wheel or the pedals, but the car was moving and so I was having a hard time getting up to the driver seat and taking control despite that I still was able to get to the party and that was fine. It was just like you know people were there and chatting in my team was there there was a thing though that there was this miniature world in the school that had like dinosaurs and different creatures and things, and there were parts of the dream where I could like shrink down and be a part of that world, but it was OK cause you could get back out of of it, but that was kind of a scary part where you if you went into that world it was like you know, treacherous and scary. It was kind of a strange dream.
